Efflorescence is a white, salt like residue commonly seen along grout lines but may also be found along the veins of natural stone. Efflorescence is the result of water entering below the surface of the tile, the water then mixes with and dissolves minerals in the tilers bedding. When the tiles are heated by the sun the mineral laden water is drawn up through the weakest point. When the water evaporates the minerals are left behind, leaving an unsightly white residue.
Over the years we have not only mastered efflorescence removal but also perfected the process of stopping its return.

I can't recommend the guys from PSR enough! We had BAD efflorescence coming from the painted side of our balconies. Since their first visit 15 months ago, it has not returned.
